Booze: Beer Here Kama Citra review

Brewery: Beer Here (Denmark)
Beer: Kama Citra
Style: Brown Ale
ABV: 7%

Apologies for the poor camera quality. Need to buy a decent camera soon. Remind me, yeah?

I bought this because I was intrigued. Firstly, I’d never had anything by Beer Here and secondly, it’s a brown ale with citra hops. What the hell?

I opened the bottle; it appears dark chocolate brown. I was sharing this bottle with my brother and when I poured it into the glass that he was using it had pretty much no head but in mine it did.

Aromas are tropical fruits, caramel, chocolate and bitter coffee.

Flavours I got were coffee, chocolate and grapefruit then as the beer had been in my glass for a while and warmed up I started to get insanely sweet brown sugar.

In addition to this, as it goes down I got a really weird sensation… like that kind of sensation you get when you eat a trebor extra strong mint.

This is possibly the weirdest beer I’ve ever had. I can’t really explain it fully… a brown ale which is a grapefruit hop-bomb. I like it and I would definitely like to drink it again.

More soon…

Nate
