Advent Calendar Day 5 - Helsingborgs Kaffestout

So day 5 now, and my second day at Redwell Brewery as Marketing Manager and it's a beer from a strange land since David Jones is back. This is a beer he has been brewing at Helsingborg Brewery in Sweden.

Brewery: Helsingborgs
Beer: Kaffestout
ABV: 8.5%
Style: Coffee Stout
Country: Sweden
Where I drank it: Redwell Brewery

Look: Pitch black with a large tan head that sticks around for a while.

Aroma: Coffee, coffee and more coffee! Woah.

Flavour: Sweet black coffee with a handful of spiky hops.

Mouthfeel: Silky smooth, so drinkable.

Overall: I absolutely love this beer. It's ridiculously drinkable and delicious and I want more!

Lidl Currywurst - A Review

Ah, Currywurst! A Berlin institution and indeed, if you've been to Berlin and didn't eat Currywurst whilst you were there, I'm not sure we can be friends. My first Currywurst was on my first ever trip to Berlin in August 2016 where I stumbled upon a stall at the Street Theatre Festival on Alexanderplatz; I grabbed a cheap €3 plate as well as a beer and sat in the warm sun, and fell in love. Later on that trip I visited the Currywurst museum (yes, such a thing exists) and although a novelty, I feel it was possibly the wurst (SEE WHAT I DID THERE?) eleven euros I've ever spent. The premise of Currywurst, for those who don't know, is simple: It's effectively sliced boiled and fried sausage coated in a sweet curry ketchup and topped with curry powder; you'll usually find it served with chips and mayonnaise on nearly every street corner in Berlin. Beats: God Seed – I Begin review

God Seed was created by Norwegian black metal legends Gaahl and King Ov Hell when they left Gorgoroth in 2009. Whilst they were with Gorgoroth, they played hundreds of sold out shows culminating in their absolutely fucking massive, legendary performance at Wacken 2008. I am proud to say that I was there and it was absolutely fucking mindblowing. Everything you think of black metal was true. Fire, darkness and pentagrams. Fucking yes. I’ve always been a massive black metal fan. None of my friends were ever really that into it but I’ve loved it. It’s a genre that has always rattled cages, scared people and even made headline news. It’s just so dark and disgusting. I’ve been excited about this album for a while but y’know, I really have to be in the right mood for Black Metal. Today, this is the case.
